Update your blog regularly

Update your blog regularlySo, you have a blog of your own, and write on it every now and then. You must have realized by now that to design and start a blog is easier than to retain and increase the number of visitors to it. Reasons for this are not difficult to understand. You see this phenomenon in daily life as well. Those actors who impress the audience with their first few films fade away if they just keep on repeating themselves. If they do not have something new to give to the audience in their films, people’s interest in them just dips. This is exactly what happens to a blog as well. If you repeat, you run the risk of losing whatever readers you may have earned by your innovative idea earlier.

Remember, there are countless other blogs, and as such you have fierce competition. Holding or retaining your readers is very difficult, and you are not like McDonalds that surfers will come to you, no matter what. But at least you can keep the content fresh and interesting so that it is able to engage the audience and makes them come back to the blog every now and then.

Be funny. Even it is something serious that you want to tell to your readers, keep it simple. Never use heavily loaded words. Readers must get an impression that you are one of them and they must feel you belong to them. Anecdotes that are picked up from daily life and are funny will do the trick. Remember, you are not there to teach the laws of physics, if you try to be someone who knows all, they will quickly move away to another blog that they find interesting.

Humor has innate ability to bind the people. You will find that it is when your content is really funny that you get the highest readership. But, do not copy anyone else. People like those who are original people, not their clones. Remember, there has not been another Charlie Chaplin, though there have been n number of his clones.

Word of mouth has the ability to spread like wildfire, and this works both ways. Never offend the sensitivities of any class of people, and always be appreciative, and not critical, of others.

After writing your blog, do not hurry to post it until you have read it aloud as if someone else is reading it. If you find something unnecessary, delete it.
